If you thought your manga collection was complete, you better hold that thought because a Viz has a few tricks of their sleeves that are worth keeping an eye on.

With the start of a new season calls for some new reading material. If you’re not sure what you should pick up, VIZ Media has you covered with what they have planned for the month of September for both old and new titles alike.

Starting off for their biggest release is their Assassination Classroom box set!

The set includes a whopping 21 volumes for the out of the ordinary story revolving a class full of students whose main goal this school year centers around assassinating their teacher who just so happens to be an untouchable octopus monster set on destroying the Earth. The box set comes out September 3rd and retails for $189.99 USD and $249.99 CAN while also including a poster and a never before released art book. You can check out where you can pre-order it from right here

Next on the recommendation list is a new series and a first series from mangaka Kousuke Oono called The Way of The HouseHusband

This new tale takes place during life after the mafia for a former member trying to make amends with his past and giving a new way of living at home without crime a chance. Leaving the Yakuza behind doesn’t sound like an easy task, so what’s an old time gangster to do to keep himself occupied? Judging by the name alone I can only think of this as nice comedy read anybody can enjoy. Could you imagine the most intimidating looking thug asking what isle can they find milk and eggs? The Way of The HouseHusband is scheduled to release September 17th and retails for $12.99 USD and $17.99 CAN. Pre-orders can be made on Viz Media’s official website.

Another series debut coming out and on the rise comes from the mind of Tasuku Karasuma called No Guns Life

Now this feature seems a bit different at first but gives off a mystery theme for you with a keen eye for detail.  In what seems like a post war world, Juzo Inui comes back completely inhuman on the outside as a cyborg with a gun for a head and has no recollection of his life before the war. Now he works as investigative vigilante while trying to get to the scoop on why his life has been changed forever. The first volume of No Guns life is also set to release September 17th and will retail for $12.99 USD and $17.99 CAN and pre-orders are currently up for grabs on the Viz website

Cats never seem to stray away from being able to tell a story, especially when it comes to manga as we’ve seen done time after time in the past. With that being said, from Eisner award winning originator, Taiyō MatsumotoCats of the Louvre combines the curiosity of the felines of Paris and the artistic works found on the world famous art museum to brings an unearthly series of events once darkness envelopes the exhibit. Cats of the Louvre will be available September 17th and retails for $29.99 USD and $39.99 CAN and can get your hardcover copy of it from Viz and various other sties by clicking here.

Let’s all admit that robots and fighting seem to go hand in hand. Now a new series with a more serious theme, Levius shows the horrid outcome of what war can do to a nation. Desensitized by the nature of armed combat, cyborgs are pit against each other as entertainment and a young “boy” named Levius must turn into a constant killing machine in order to save his own life. Slated for a September 17th release date you can pre-order Levius for $34.99 USD and $46.99 CAN just in time before your other Viz favorites come out.

In case you haven’t noticed with the slew of anime and games Nintendo keeps pumping out, Pokémon is still alive and well. This Fall season you can catch up on Ash’s adventure with the Pokémon: Black and White Movie Collection, which contains 4 entire movies including Black – Victini and Reshiram, White – Victini and Zekrom, Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice and Genesect and the Legend Awakened. Preorder the Blu-ray for $24.98 USD and $29.99 CAN before it releases on September 17th.

There you have it folks! All the manga to keep your hands tied while you keep putting other series you’ve been meaning to finish on the backlog, but who could blame you? What series stands out to you the most? What’s your favorite Viz title? Let us know in the comments below, and make sure to stay tuned to Junkie Monkeys for all your manga related news and more!
